We are seeking a reliable, trustworthy, and innovative Montessori Toddler teacher to join our team at Sunrise Montessori located in northwest Glendale. The Montessori Toddler Teacher will work closely with their classroom’s assistant teacher in an environment prepared for students who are 12 months to 3 years of age as well as working closely with the other members of the sunrise Montessori team to support the mission and vision of the school by providing an instructional program that supports the individual needs of the individual child.

Responsibilities:

-Use Montessori curriculum and supporting instructional practices to develop materials and lessons to meet the needs of both the group and individual students.
-Follow the child by adapting instruction to meet the unique learning needs of each child, including children with identified special needs.
-Interpret and use observations to inform instructional decisions for individual students.
-Maintain a clean, orderly, and attractive environment, including the care and maintenance of classroom materials and equipment
-Create a safe, secure, learning environment by showing appreciation and respect for the individual differences and unique needs of each member of the learning community.
-Model and teach conflict resolution and problem-solving strategies in the classroom.
-Be consistent and clear with logical consequences to help children to manage issues.
-Foster a classroom community that provides continuity in rules and expectations for behavior similar to those developed across all classrooms.
-Supervise children at all times during class in a proactive manner
– Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure open communication about their child’s progress
– Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain discipline and order

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in early childhood teaching, education, or a related discipline is recommended.
· Completed training at an accredited Montessori Center.
· Additional courses or training in education would be advantageous.
· Passionate about alternative education.
· An ability to teach groups of children of varying ages, needs, and abilities.
· Patience and excellent observational, communication, and diagnostic skills.
· The ability to multitask, keep calm under pressure, and treat everyone with love and respect

As an Elementary Assistant School Teacher, you will be responsible for assisting in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students. You will provide support to a lead teacher in charge of a classroom. If you are someone interested in working with children from 1st to 6th grade this may be a job for you!

Responsibilities:

Supervising students in class, between classes and during recreation periods and field trips
Ensuring the classroom environment is safe and clean.
Overseeing students during non-classroom times including in-between classes, during lunch, and on-field excursions.

Collaborating with lead teachers to recognize issues students are facing and recommend solutions.

Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices.
Must have a compassionate and positive attitude.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Outstanding interpersonal and presentation abilities.
